Chapter 1- Sunset Towers
In the opening chapter of The Westing Game a man named Barney Northrup delivers 6 letters to specific people trying to sell them apartments. Barney Northrup, the man that doesn't exist, had his name signed on the letters! Barney for some reason tries to sell the people specific apartments by saying, " You're really in luck. There's only one apartment left," at each appointment even though there were plenty more apartments left.
Chapter 2- Ghosts Or Worse
It is September now and the 6 "chosen ones" move in and a so called "mistake" moves in. Otis Amber, the doorman, tells Turtle Wexler a spooky story about the Westing Mansion. He tells Turtle that there could be ghosts in the old Westing Mansion or worse! Also Shin Hoo's Chinese Restaurant holds it's grand opening. Three people came!
Chapter 4-The Corpse Found
When the tenants see more smoke coming from the Westing Mansion they get suspicious. Turtle and Doug Hoo make a bet that Turtle can't go into the Westing Mansion. Turtle gets $2 from Doug for every minute she stays in the Westing mansion. When she enters she is greeted by the dead body of Sam Westing not laying on an oriental rug but laying in a bed. She runs out in terror. The next morning a news article is in the newspaper stating that Sam Westing was found dead. Only Turtle had seen the body and Doug Hoo didn't believe her. So who knew Sam Westing was dead?
Chapter 5- Sixteen Heirs
Now that we all know Sam Westing is dead it is time to hear his will. Sixteen letters from E.J Plum are delivered to 16 relatives of Sam. They are all looking forward to hearing the will. Sam Westing's house was worth over 200 million dollars so they are hoping for something nice.
Chapter 6- The Westing Will
The 16 relatives arrive at the Westing Mansion. They are ready to hear the will. The will reading goes as expected until Sam writes " I didn't die from a natural cause because my life was taken from one of you." Everyone was in shock. They all looked around to find anyone. But who really did it?
Chapter 7- The Westing Game
To find out who killed him the will explains a game called The Westing Game. The 16 people will be put into pairs. There will be 8 teams. Each team gets $10,000 and an envelope of clues. Who will win the Westing Game?
Chapter 8- The Paired Heirs
The tenants awake to a huge blizzard. They are snowbound. With a murderer on the loose amongst them and the snow keeping them together has the tenants scared. They meet up with their partners to discuss their clues. So far nobody has come up with any promising solutions.
Chapter 9- Lost and Found
When Sydelle loses her short hand notes it seems everyone has lost something. To try and find what they lost they put up signs in the elevator. Also J.J. Ford puts up a sign inviting everyone to a party at her apartment.
Chapter 10- The Long Party
Everyone made it to Judge J.J. Fords place to have a party. Most people were thrilled about the party but some weren't . Almost everyone but James Shin Hoo was happy and having a good time but Mr. Hoo has watched people eat and talk enough. The party went on for a long time.
Chapter 11- The Meeting
Everyone shows up at a clue meeting held by Theo Theodorakis. Every heir is there to share their clues. Everyone

Chapter 12- The First Bomb
In the Theodorakis' restaurant a bomb goes off. It splatters tomato sauce all over the kitchen. Mr. Hoo smirks after the Theodorakis' have to close down their restaurant. Mr. Hoo is smiling because he can get more buisness for his restaurant now.
Chapter 13- The Second Bomb
The bomber put another bomb now in the kitchen of Mr. Hoo's restaurant. Mr. Hoo is furious with whoever is doing this. He wants a stop to it immediately. The bomber plans to put the next bomb in the Wexler apartment. Specifically targeting Angela.
Chapter 14- Pairs Repaired
One of Angela's clues is "Hood," so after the snow clears Angela checks under all of the car hoods. Her partner, Sydelle, has a tapestry bag. When Angela looks into the bag she sees two clues taped on an index card. They were "Thy" and "Beautiful". But why would clues be in Sydelle's bag? Does she know something everybody else doesn't?
Chapter 15- Fact and Gossip
The heirs find out something about Sam Westing. They find out that Violet Westing, Sam's daughter, was the girlfriend of Theo Theodorakis. The bomber still remains unknown as well as the murderer, if there is one.
Chapter 16- The Third Bomb
At Angela's birthday party, in a nice wrapped gift, she finds a bomb that goes off in her face. It was really a nice addition to her asparagus cookers. They took her to the hospital but no damage was done. She merely burned her hands and cut her cheek. She has a scar on her cheek now.
Chapter 17- Some Solutions
When Theo is experimenting in his chemistry lab he comes up with a formula to find the answer. The formula leads to the answer Otis Amber. Is his solution correct? Who knows? But all we know is that the correct answer is still not found.
Chapter 18- The Trackers
Partners, Turtle and Flora, decide to sell their stock after a recent increase in price. They don't know how the stock is going to lead them to an answer, but right now all they can think of is all the money they made and buying Westing Paper Products.
Chapter 19- Odd Relatives
After going through many files the heirs find out that Berthe Erica Crow's childhood friend was Sydelle's sister Sybelle. They also find two more clues in Sydelle's tapestry bag. They are "With" and "Majesties".
Chapter 20- Confessions
WPP, Westing Paper Products stock, leaps forward and goes up so much that Turtle and Flora can't wait any longer to sell all their shares, pushing their total wealth even higher. Theo, while performing an experiment, blows up his lab. He goes to the hospital but he is fine.
Chapter 21- The Fourth Bomb
The bomber strikes again! When Theo walks out of the elavator into the lobby, what do you know, a bomb goes off shooting out fireworks and sparks everywhere, leaving the lobby in ashes. The bomber is very sneaky!
Chapter 22- Losers, Winners
Some of the heirs get a suspicion that Otis is actually Sam Westing! Sounds crazy but could be true. To find more clues they take a trip into the Westing Mansion itself! When they enter they have a gut feeling that someone may be watching.
Chapter 23- Strange Answers
Turtle got a hair cut that she hated but everyone seemed to like it. They all meet to share their final answers. The documents made by Sam Westing told everyone to go to the library. The heirs are all terified except for one!
Chapter 24- Wrong All Wrong
The heirs arrive at the library and Ed Plum reads one of Sam Westing's documents. It says that all answers are wrong. They put all their clues together and it shows the song "America The Beautiful." But there are some syllables missing. They are "ber" "the" "erica" "crow." The answer to the Westing Game is Berthe Erica Crow! Crow was arrested on the spot. Then Sandy McSouthers has a heart attack and dies. But before he is actually dead he winks at Turtle.
Chapter 25- Westing's Wake
Sandy was officially dead. But when Turtle looked closely at Sandy she saw a big bruise on Sandy's leg. She had never kicked Sandy before but she did kick Barney Northrup after he fired Sandy. Could Sandy be Barney Northrup? Could Sam Westing not be dead. Is Sam Westing In disguise?
Chapter 26- Turtle's Trail
Judge J.J. Ford held court to find out more on the case. They honored Sam Westing's alias Sandy McSouthers. Turtle was very upset because she was really good friends with Sandy.
Chapter 27- A Happy Fourth
Sam Westing said in his last document that he split up the winnings evenly throughout all the heirs. But something was still missing. Sandy McSOUTHers Barney NORTHrup and Sam WESTing. South, North and West, but what about East? Julian R. Eastman! Could Sam Westing also be Julian R. Eastman?
Chapter 28- And Then...
Crow and Otis hold their wedding ceremony. They have a big celebration afterwards. Chris says goodbye to J.J. Ford and he is studying to get into a good school.
Chapter 29- Five Years Pass
Sydelle is engaged to Conrad Shultz and they will get married soon. Turtle is now called T.R. Wexler and she has become a very good student and a lawyer.
Chapter 30- The End?
Sam Westing is getting to the point where he is about to die. T.R. Wexler is now a millionaire. Sydelle and Conrad married and moved to Hawaii.
